Making websites fun!
This great article from Smashing Magazine is about improving a
website's impression on the user by making it more fun. Their
theory is that people remember and share websites more that are
funny and I'm all for it (when used appropriately… putting the
"fun" in funeral sites is probably ill-advised).
Have a read of the article for more detail:

Here are some funny examples:

Japanese Writing:

Not to keep harping on about Smashing Magazine, but they write
about awesome things, and the Japanese writing system is an awesome
thing.
Have a read of this to find out about the specific complexities
that having a multidirectional writing system poses: www.smashingmagazine.com/2012/03/05/japanese-a-beautifully-complex-writing-system/
We should count ourselves lucky that we mostly only have to make
websites for one direction of reading. Not that we couldn't bust out something amazing in Japanese.
ZOMBIES, RUN!

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zombies-run!/id503519713?mt=8
This is a fantastic iPhone app that will get you off the couch
and running for your life in no time! You'll literally be running
for your life because it's basically a smart fitness motivation
app. Using the app you run from virtual Zombies whilst also
listening to whatever cheery soundtrack you choose to enjoy the
apocalypse to.
My top three tracks are "I will survive" by Gloria Gaynor, "Eye
of the Tiger" by Survivor and "Hungry like the wolf" by Duran
Duran.
For what it's worth, we make great apps
too, but ours have the bonus of not feeding on your brains.
Brains…
